Evade that and quickly get near to hit him once or twice then dash away again. Now the best time to hit him on this second phase is when he jumps and slam his body at the floor. Once he's done throwing those balls you should try to stay away from the balls so he doesn't initiate the throwing ball attacks again. He will usually do this twice if the balls are near each other. When you see him raising his arm to throw the ball at you, start strafing to the right or to the left and when he throws it you want to dash to the direction you're strafing.
When you see him going for those balls on the floor, you want to run away from him as far as possible. The 2nd phase is definitely trickier and more unpredictable. Repeat this for a few times and the 2nd phase will start. Don't stay too long behind or beside him or he will start doing the spinning attack. Chip him away with a quick attack once or twice depending on how safe you feel then quickly dash away from him. When he starts telegraphing his attack, dash diagonally to either of his sides and you will easily dodge his balls.
Now my preferred weapon against him is an axe because it's quite powerful and pretty fast on mid-stance, but an odachi or a spear can be good too.įor his 1st phase you want to stand in front of him and bait him to attack.
